Every year, a variety of people in India celebrate a ‘festival of giving’ called DaanUtsav, which begins on Gandhi Jayanthi. It is usually celebrated between 2-8 October, and often extends across the entire month of October. Individuals, organisations, and companies create or participate in giving events; donating time, money, skills and other resources, to people and groups that are aligned with their interests.
This year, BREADS was invited by Volvo Group India between 3-5 October, to interact with their employees at their factory premises in Hoskote and Peenya, and business offices at Bagmane Tech Park. Similarly, Avaya India Pvt Ltd invited BREADS to interact with their employees across India through an online presentation on 12 October, to share BREADS’ work for the empowerment of vulnerable children, youth and communities. The employees were generous in their support of BREADS’ work. On 15 October, Morgan Stanley, a valued CSR partner, invited BREADS to participate in a walkathon organised for its employees to become aware and contribute to the social causes promoted by BREADS.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Heads of the companies were particularly helpful in facilitating the process and BREADS was able to reach out successfully to many individuals who were motivated to know more and contribute to the betterment of their fellow citizens. It was a happy DaanUtsav for all!
