Don Bosco Makkalalaya, BREADS partner in Mysuru, in collaboration with the District Administration, District Legal Services Authority, Labour Department, and District Child Labour Project Society, conducted a five-day auto campaign between 17-22 February across Mysuru city and nearby areas. An autorickshaw with a microphone system spread the information on child rights and child rights violations, exhorting the public to act as caring communities with timely reporting of violations and abuses.
Thousands of brochures were also distributed for awareness, which contained information on child rights, the need to prevent child marriage and child labour, the POCSO Act, gender equality, and a call to action for protection of child rights and reporting of violations.
Flagged off by senior officials from the district Labour department, the campaign engaged with local authorities, teachers, parents, children and the public in strengthening child protection efforts. The campaign received curious, encouraging and positive public response.
