Awareness on Women Empowerment and Gender Equality in Chitradurga

A programme on women empowerment and gender equality was organized at Women’s I T I College in Chithradurga. Ms. Asha, the staff of Chithra Don Bosco society conducted the training. About 77 students participated in the training which focused the subjects on dowry act, gender equality, counseling, dowry harassment, division of property, sexual harassment, and emotional harassment. The students discussed on the abuse and harassment faced by women, girl children, how to get protection and the assistance from police and legal aid cell groups. The programme helped the students to know more about the women issues and rights of women.
