Highlighting the Only One Earth theme on World Environment Day, Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring (DREAM) team Wayanad distributed tree saplings to different stakeholders to convey the message of renewing a planet and a generation that dreams beyond drugs. The saplings were distributed to the members of the MLA office (Sultan Bathery), Excise and Police departments, Panamaram Block panchayat; Pulpally, Poothadi, and Mullankolly gram panchayats, and ICDS members on 5 June 2022.
Introducing the concept of a DREAM Institution, the Wayanad team selected five schools and two colleges in Sultan Bathery and Pulpally that would proactively focus on creating eco-friendly, drug-free campuses. To kickstart the process, the team distributed tree saplings in these institutions and selected two student leaders in each school and college, who would take the lead to initiate actions for the prevention of substance abuse in their respective campuses.
