Kerala Interstate Migrants Alliance for Transformation (KISMAT), a programme of BREADS Bangalore, organised a day-long exhibition cum sale at Perumbavoor on 28 May 2022, featuring products by migrant street vendors from across Kerala. Handmade products made by migrants from Odisha, Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh were the main attractions of the exhibition.
As part of its intervention with migrants, KISMAT facilitates self-help groups among migrant street vendors and promotes formal markets for their products across Kerala. Interstate migrants from various districts participated in the fair—the first of its kind—which drew good responses from the migrant as well as the local communities.
