The Women Empowerment through Livelihood and Entrepreneurship (WELivE) programme in Kannur, Kerala in association with the Computer Science Department of Don Bosco Arts and Science College Angadikadavu organised a digital literacy programme for the Kudumbashree members on 11 April 2022. Fr. Francis Karackattu sdb (Principal, DB Arts and Science College, Angadikadavu) presided over the programme, which was inaugurated by Ms. Lissy Thomas (Vice President, Ayyankunnu Grama Panchayat). The objective of the programme was to create digital leadership among women, to help them use technology to empower themselves while remaining secure from online risks and enabling them to make smart choices.
About 14 Kudumbashree members attended the programme. They were taught the basic features of computer office applications such as MS Word and MS PowerPoint which would help them to also teach their children. They were introduced to mobile payment apps and were oriented on internet facilities to make better use of gadgets and online amenities in today’s world, thus making their life more convenient.
