BREADS’ Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring (DREAM) programme was officially launched in Kozhikode by the District Collector Dr. N. Tej Lohit Reddy on 10 January 2022 at Don Bosco Campus Mampetta.
Sri. T.P. Babu (Municipal Chairman, Mukkam), Fr. Thomas K.O sdb (Principal, Don Bosco College, Mampetta), Fr. Binu Scaria sdb (State Director, DREAM), Mr. Rajendran (Vimukthi, Kozhikode) were also part of the programme. Different cultural events during the formal programme raised awareness about drug abuse among children and youth.
The district team has planned intensive efforts to create awareness on the consequences of drug abuse in selected schools and colleges of the district through the programme. The team along with the Director, have planned a multitude of effective interventions to prevent drug abuse with different areas of focus, to be implemented in a variety of settings. Interventions involve families, schools, colleges, teachers, and other stakeholders, and will support prevention of drug abuse in individuals or a group, by focusing on development factors, policies etc.
