The Salesians of Don Bosco, Province of Bangalore, and BREADS launched a new programme ‘Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring (DREAM), that aims to help children and youth ‘Dream Beyond Drugs’. The programme will be implemented across 10 districts in Kerala: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Alappuzha, Kozhikode, Kannur, Wayanad, Kasaragod.
DREAM was officially launched on 20 November 2021 by Mr. Nelson K (Joint Excise Commissioner, Ernakulam) at Don Bosco, Vaduthala. Fr Jose Koyickal (Provincial, Salesian Province of Bangalore) unveiled the logo of DREAM.
Fr Joy Nedumparambil (Economer, Salesian Province of Bangalore) described the inception and journey of the DREAM initiative through the pilot phase in two districts to its present stage. Fr Rubin Mathew (Executive Director, BREADS) outlined the scope and goals of the programme. Fr Binu Scaria (State Director, DREAM), Fr Shibhu Davis (Rector, Don Bosco Vaduthala), Ward Councillors from Vaduthala, and District DREAM Directors present on the occasion offered felicitations and best wishes for the success of the programme.
