On 9 October 2021, a graduation ceremony was organised at DB BEST Academy, Bangalore for 30 students from the skill training batches of 11, 12, 13 and 14, who successfully completed their three-month courses.
Representatives of corporate partners, Ms. Shama Rani Bodra (Director, HR, Taj West End), Mr. Edwin (HR, ITS) and Mr. Kumar Roa, (Director, ITS) were part of the programme along with Fr. Rubin Mathew, Executive Director, BREADS and Fr. Deepu Mathew, Director, DB BEST Academy.
These short-term vocational training programmes of three months’ duration, provide the students with technical inputs prepared in consultation with industry experts and professionals. The course includes on-the-job training, assignments, and field visits. Valuable life skills are also integrated into the curriculum through an interactive teaching process.
DB BEST Academy, set up by BREADS Bangalore in 2016, has been providing certification in three skill domains for underprivileged and marginalised youth who have completed 18 years of age. It is anticipated that this programme not only skills youth theoretically and practically upon completion, but also provides them the opportunity to prepare themselves for further study, self-employment, or employment in leading companies in the future.
