On the 23rd of February 2021, Tuesday, a Development Training Program for Entrepreneurs was conducted at the DBAY auditorium (Alappuzha), in which 42 women from 6 different SHGs participated.
The resource person Mr Devarathnan – faculty from Kudumbashree’s SMART Alappuzha (an agency -rendering services like EDP and SHG management training), provided a very elaborate two half hours’ EDP training session for the budding women entrepreneur groups registered under WELivE Alappuzha.
The main aim of the training was to cater to the beneficiary groups with proper guidance in aspects of :
- How to effectively exist within a group setting
- Nurture soft skills like interpersonal skills, communication, time management, self-motivation, problem-solving, teamwork and leadership qualities
- Significance of maintaining proper documentation in entrepreneurship
- The need for using a stock register, cash book, minutes book and regular reports
The session started with an ice-breaking task by the trainer, which increased Proactivity among members. He used different examples and contexts to devise various important topics pertaining to the programme.
Ms Ashwini Prasad, the Project Facilitator, delivered the welcome address, as well as hosted the training session; Mrs Phelomina Josey one of the participants, delivered a Vote of Thanks on behalf of the entire WELivE project team in Kerala, BREADS and the womenfolk who had registered in this project from Mangalam coastal ward, Alappuzha.
Overall it was an interactive session with the inclusion of a few group activities. From the response and feedback collected from the participants, these activities were quite thought-provoking in nature.
