The month of November being specially dedicated to children, Dialogues (an inspiring social space for individuals and teams to think, dream, collaborate and implement ideas) conducted a series of online discussions with change makers in children’s issues, health, childcare etc.
Fr. Joy Nedumparambil SDB, Executive Director, BREADS was invited to discuss Child Rights on 13 November 2020. While reiterating the fundamental duty of a society to protect its children’s rights, Fr. Joy also presented a comprehensive overview of child rights in India, relevant legislation and the work of BREADS in the field. With specific focus on its programme, Child Rights Education and Action Movement (CREAM), Fr. Joy took the viewers through the various dimensions of empowering children and adults to promote and protect child rights in their communities, while learning to negotiate with State systems and structures for the fulfilment of these rights. Indeed, a meaningful way to mark Children’s Day in 2020.
