On 12 October 2020 Fishermen Community Development Programme (FCDP) Kollam and Theeradesa Mahila Society (TMS) started a COVID 19 help desk aimed at providing assistance to people who are severely in need because of the rapid spread of COVID 19. The help desk numbers 9895754970 and 0474-2750652 provide 24×7 services such as COVID 19 tests, treatment and medicine, mid-day meals for quarantined patients, volunteers for emergency support, telecounselling and distribution of study materials for deserving students. The help desk was inaugurated by Mr. Devarajan, Circle Inspector, Pallithottam, with the release of the help desk brochure in the presence of Fr Joby Sebastian, Director, FCDP; Sr. Mary Karuvelil, Assistant Director, TMS; Ms. Mini Mary, Coordinator, TMS; and staff of FCDP. This is yet another initiative of FCDP to combat COVID 19 after having produced masks and sanitisers; distributing cooked food and relief kits; and providing education support to students.
