On 6 October 2020, the Fishermen Community Development Programme (FCDP) Kollam inaugurated Pratheeksha, which aims to provide educational support to students from financially weaker families who cannot afford to purchase educational materials. Pratheeksha intends to provide educational kits to 100 deserving students from the fishermen community in the coastal areas of Kollam district. Each kit costing Rs. 300 includes text books and note books.
The study materials were distributed by Dr. Sindha- Chairperson, FCDP, Sr. Mary- Assistant Director, Theeradesha Mahila Society (TMS), Ms. Gretta Raju – Coordinator, FCDP and Ms. Mini Mary- Coordinator, TMS. The distribution was held at different places adhering to COVID-19 protocols. FCDP thanks all its benefactors for their timely help and generous contribution during the COVID 19 pandemic.
