Don Bosco Makkalalaya Mysuru observed World Environment Day in Siddalingapura Gram Panchayat in Mysuru district, acknowledging the signals that Nature has been sending recently. While the world continues its battle against the pandemic, Nature’s lessons are giving us the insight to rectify our lifestyles and actions to protect Nature in its rich diversity. On 5 June, 25 saplings of mango, moringa and Indian beech were planted in Kesere Government Higher Primary School and Belavathgrama Government Higher Primary School. Ms. Savita-President, Siddalingapura GP, Mr. Chikkabore Gowda- PDO of Siddalingapura GP, panchayat members and the teachers from the government schools were present during the planting. The saplings were provided free of cost by the Forest Department, Mysuru. On the occasion, the staff of DB Makkalalaya dedicated themselves to keeping the streets in their office neighbourhood clean. They decided to henceforth spend one hour daily to clean their surroundings.
