Though Kerala as a state survived the massive disaster, Wayanad and Calicut districts were tremendously affected with 121 deaths and 40 people injured. BREADS Bangalore reached out to the flood-affected people in Wayanad and Calicut without any delay, in collaboration with Kerala Interstate Migrants Alliance for Transformation (KISMAT) – a project supported by BREADS. Groceries, cleaning materials, clothes, 1000 bottles of mineral water and infant clothes were distributed to the tribal colonies and relief camps in Wayanad, Chundakolli, Pulpalli, Kolavalli and Civil Station, Calicut. The support benefited over 500 people in the flood-affected areas.
