The incessant rains have wreaked once again untold miseries to the people of Kerala. Though not as a pan-Kerala effect, the floods and landslides have buried alive more lives than the previous year. So far, 57 deaths have been officially confirmed and 68 are missing. The death toll could rise as two villages in Nilambur (Malappuram district) and Meppadi (Wayanad district) have been buried under soil and sludge due to landslides. The rescue operations are stalled due to occurrences of landslides and incessant rains.
The Salesians, staff and students of Don Bosco College Sultan Bathery and Don Bosco College Angadikadavu are coordinating and reaching out with all possible help to the victims of the tragedy.
