The incessant rain and flood that caused multiple damages to the state of Kerala during the month of August 2018, is live in people’s memories even till today. Since the onset of the destruction, BREADS had extended its support all throughout the time of the calamity through the various Don Bosco centres in the state starting in the form of relief camps to flood relief materials. Now we have successfully completed the construction of 3 houses for the families whose houses were completely wiped out. The widows and destitute, single earning member families and socially backward classes/ castes and the families whose houses, household assets and lands were totally destroyed by flood were selected to get the support to build a house through BREADS.
BREADS has completed the construction of the first three houses at Sultan Bathery in association with Don Bosco Sulthan Bathery. Fr. Joy Nedumparambil, the Executive Director of BREADS handed over the key to the first beneficiary on 3rd March 2019. The house was blessed by Fr. Thomas, the Parish priest of Kalloor b and Fr. Thomas Poovelickal, the Rector Don Bosco Sulthan Bathery, Mr.Sibi Varghese, District coordinator of life mission, Fr. Joy, Principal- Don Bosco College, Bro.
