Don Bosco Deodurga, Raichur district celebrated the world clean up day on 15th September 2018, at Hemnur Village. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Basavaraj, High School Teacher, Mr. Ellana Gowda, Government school teacher along with the Gram Panchayati members. A rally was conducted by the school children to spread awareness among people about the importance of clean-up day and the need for keeping the surroundings clean. The children cleaned the surroundings of the school, primary health care center and the roads adjacent to the school. Children and teachers collected the garbage which was spilt all over the roads and lanes and it was disposed properly.
After the completion of the cleaning activity a public gathering was organized to raise awareness and relevance of the world clean up day. Mr. Rajavali, head master, Mr. Govinda Raj Nayak, Member, Taluk Panchayat, Mr. Diddayya Nayak, Member, Gram Panchayat, Kothadoddi, Anjaneya Nayaka and Pandu Ranga Nayaka, Members, Gram Panchayat, Mr.Shivkumar and Ms. Bhemavva, Social Activists were present on the occasion. The programme was whole heartedly supported by children, youth, community leaders, teachers, anganwadi staff and CREAM staff. 250 people participated in the cleaning activity. The initiative by the children and Don Bosco Deodurga marked the best example among the public conveying the message to keep the surroundings clean and the importance of segregation of waste.
