The solar powered computer education programme at Don Bosco Yuvakara Grama Ajjanahalli has taken the ground breaking steps in the government primary schools in Magadi taluk of Ramangara district to provide the exposure and basic computer skills to the rural children through the mobile computer bus. The mobile computer bus is equipped with 15 computers, TV and coolers which solely operate on solar power and reaches to twelve schools to deliver computer literacy at the doorsteps of the rural villages. The children and the teachers vow that the basic training has increased their interest to learn and got familiarised with the computers and technology. The children in schools undergo three months intensive training and regular tests are conducted to assess the knowledge. On 9th of March 2018 on the occasion of Saraswathi pooja the computer training certificate distribution was held at Government higher primary school Heligehalli in Magadi taluk. 35 students completed the three months computer literacy training and were awarded the certificates. Mr. Umesh, Cluster Resource Person, Magadi taluk, Mr. Chikkagangaya, head master of the school, Fr. Sonychen, Director, Don Bosco Yuvakara Grama, Mr. Vijay Rawal from Lemken company, Bro. Mathew were the chief guests and the children proudly received the certificates from the chief dignitaries. On the occasion Mr. Anil, computer trainer, was appreciated for the efforts taken to enlighten the young minds.
