Bringing up children is an art and requires incredible efforts to understand the expectations, problems and psychology of children. The holistic development of child requires the establishment of strong upbringing and support system. The CREAM project invited and gathered the parents of students from tuition centers at Chithra, Don Bosco to create awareness on parenting skill. The Parents meet was inaugurated by Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Director of Don Bosco Institution, Chitradurga who also addressed the gathering about the problems and issues faced by children in day to day life. The main session was taken by Ms. Sheela, the Member of Child Welfare Committee on child rights, adoption schemes and child protection mechanisms. Mr. Manjunath, the Social Activist of CREAM project also educated the parents on the evil effects of child labour and child marriage. The parents meet participated 105 parents from 6 tuition centres which helped to reach out to the people at grass root level. The training not just focused at the problems of children but the responsibilities of parents towards children to be the influential role models, to well understand the emotions of children and being a help for the child to overcome the challenges very positively.
