On 19th of January 2018 a meeting was held with Dr. Shalini Rajneesh I.A.S., Principal Secretary, Primary and Secondary Education, Karnataka to discuss about BREADS modules on Human Rights Education, Child Rights Education and a handbook on Child Rights Clubs. Fr. Joy Nedumparambil SDB, Executive Director, BREADS advocated to include the modules as part of the school syllabus, especially as part of the social science that the children will grow up knowing their rights and responsibilities. The request has made to appoint a social science teacher as one in charge of the child rights clubs in every school so that she/ he can monitor the clubs and its activities every month. Thereby Karnataka can become the first state in India to incorporate human rights and child rights as part of the school curriculum. Fr. Edward Alapurackal SDB and Mr. Manjappa, CREAM coordinator, Davangere were present on the occasion.
