Jnanadeepthi Child Rights Club formed as a part of Child Rights Education and Action Movement [CREAM] Don Bosco Ramanagara, voiced out to protect their friends. Members of Jnanadeepthi CRC are children of Govt. Higher Primary School Virupakshipura Village at Channapattana Taluk. A teacher form the school had beaten up children, especially girl children for some reason in the month of December 2016. Understanding corporal punishment is not right way to discipline children, the members of Jnanadeepthi CRC under the leadership of President Nanditha and Vice-President Sushmitha decided to voice against this incident. Children informed the parents about the incident and they came together to speak to the teacher. This caught the attention of the head master and other teachers of the school. Soon Mr. Mallikarjun BEO visited the school and transferred the concerned teacher to another school with a warning. This incident calls for acclamation because children have become capable enough through CREAM leadership training and other capacity building programs to realizing their rights and react when they are deprived of rights. Children have reacted to a situation to protect other children and have found a solution to it. Children, teachers and parents are proud about Jnanadeepthi CRC and its timely involvement.
