The Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring (DREAM) programme in Kottayam conducted a volunteer’s training programme on 17-18 March 2023 at Don Bosco Central School, Puthupally. The programme facilitated the high-level involvement of volunteers across Kerala, whose services will be mainly used for imparting counselling and mental support to students, who are in distress, victims of abuse, children from dysfunctional families, and slow learners who are more prone to addictions.
The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Elizabeth Mariya Paul (Asst Vice President & Branch Head, Federal Bank, Puthupally). The sessions were conducted by Mr. Vinu Vijayan (Vimukthi Mission Coordinator, Kottayam) and Mr. Sigi Antony (Vice Principal, TRADA Institute of Social Sciences) on the topics of substance abuse among children in Kerala and addiction counselling.
Fr. Devassy Chirackal (Rector, Don Bosco Puthupally), and Fr. Josh Kanjooparambil (Director, DREAM Kottayam) graced the occasion with their presence.
