The Salesians of Don Bosco Hospet and the school community of Don Bosco School, marked a significant milestone for themselves with the inauguration and blessing of the new building block on 15 January 2024. Rt. Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Ballari, blessed the building; Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal, the Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bangalore inaugurated it along with Mr. Daniel Knable, the Project Manager of Don Bosco Mondo e.V., Germany.
The modern structure, which will support the quality English-medium education of around 600 children from the surrounding areas of Hospet, is the result of a fruitful collaboration among Bangalore Rural Educational and Development Society (BREADS), Don Bosco Mondo e.V., the Salesian Province of Bangalore, and Don Bosco Hospet. Much appreciation and gratitude to them, especially to the funding partners, for bringing this collective dream into reality.
Important representatives at the event included Fr. Shalbin Kalanchery- the Vice Provincial, Fr. Joy Nedumparambil- the Province Economer, and Fr. George PS, the Executive Director of BREADS. The presence of teachers, students, and parents added to the joy and excitement of the moment. In a felicitation ceremony, Fr. Roshan D’Sa- Rector and Manager of the Don Bosco Educational Complex, Hospet welcomed everyone, honouring all those who contributed to the construction of the new building.
Now we await the real fruits of all this labour—the blossoming of young minds, exposed to an excellent education of the mind, body and spirit. All the best to the new Don Bosco School, Hospet!
