Mental Health
Mental well-being plays a vital role in the growth and development of every child. Facing pressure to succeed in a world, where markers of success are at times arbitrary, , the emotional and psychological health of children and young people has become as important as their physical and academic well-being. Recognising this, BREADS has made mental health an integral part of its mission to protect and empower vulnerable children and youth. Through its mental health initiatives, BREADS works to create awareness, offer preventive support and strengthen systems that promote emotional resilience in children. By engaging with schools, families, teachers and communities, these programmes aim to create safe and supportive spaces where children can express themselves freely and learn to handle challenges with
confidence.
BREADS currently implements three key initiatives under Mental Health:
- Mental health Initiative for Nurturing Development and Support (MINDS)
- Sports for Change
- Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring (DREAM).
Each of these programmes focuses on different but connected aspects of mental well-being from emotional education and counselling to life skills, healthy recreation, personality development and prevention and treatment of addictions. Together, these initiatives reflect BREADS’ commitment to nurturing children who are not only educated and skilled but also emotionally strong, compassionate and ready to lead healthy, meaningful lives.
