Teachers’ Training on Child rights at Sandur, Bellary

Don Bosco Hospet organised two days teacher training on human rights, child rights and child related Acts and rules as a part of Child Rights Education and Action Movement [CREAM] programme. The training was conducted on 19 and 20 January 2017 at Sandur, Bellary District. A total of 35 teachers – 25 male and 10 female – from governement schools of Sandur Takul attended the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Sri. Mounesh Badiger, BEO, Hospet. He appreciated Don Bosco for organising a training programme for teachers, which should be soon in cooperated in other schools as well. The other guests present were Mr. Umapati, Coordinator,  BRC and Mr.Kampli Head Master, Government high school, Sandur, Bellari. Mr. Raghavendra, Chairperson, Child Welfare committee, Bellari was the resource person for the programme. He is a well experienced hand in the field of child protection and child rights education. The training programmes aimed at capacitating the teachers to impart child right education to children and support them in attaining their rights. The teachers were very passionate about knowing more about child rights and how child participation can impact our children and society positively. Child rights clubs formed at each school will be main platform for the children to practice what has been imparted to them as a part of rights education. The training ended with a set of enthusiastic teachers in empowering children through child rights education and Child rights Club.
