Project staff training at Davangere

Don Bosco Child Labour Mission (DBCLM), Davangere under the Child Rights Education and Action Movement (CREAM) project organized the two days training on Karnataka Panchayati Raj act (Amendment) Bill, 2014, School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC), Right to Education Act for the eighty CREAM project staff from five districts of Karnataka state namely Davangere, Chitradurga, Bellary, Ramnagara and Mysore. The training was commenced on 7th and 8th of August 2017 at DBCLM, Davangere. The chief dignitaries- Fr. Cyril Sagayaraj sdb, Rector DBCLM Davangere, Fr. Dominic sdb Director, Sujyothi Child Labourers’ Reorientation Programme Alurhatti, Davengere, Mr.Damodar Acharya- resource person, Concerned for Working Children (CWC), Mr.Srinivas Ganiga- resource person, Concerned for Working Children (CWC) and representatives of participants inaugurated the training programme by lighting of the lamp. On the first day Mr.Damodar and Mr.Srinivas extensively enlightened the participants on Panchayati Raj act and functioning of Gram Sabhas at the village level. Open discussions, group work, assignments were used as different tools to train the participants. On the second day Mr. Kumaswamy, Assistant project coordinator, Field, National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore solely handled the sessions on School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC). He explained the concept, formation, role and responsibilities of SDMC members.  The training concluded by the vote of thanks from Mr. Manjappa the CREAM coordinator, Davangere.
