The world celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2020 creating global awareness and concern towards the conservation of Nature. Since 1974, 5 June is commemorated as World Environment Day by the United Nations because of rising concerns about emerging global environmental issues. Even during this COVID 19 pandemic, we are called to celebrate biodiversity while remembering the importance of preserving Nature. This year’s theme, ‘It’s time for Nature’, draws our attention to Nature’s role in providing the essential infrastructure that supports life on Earth and human development.
Marking the special occasion, Don Bosco Yadgir celebrated World Environmental Day 2020 by distributing and planting 300 saplings. The Forest Department, Yadgir provided the saplings free of cost.
